Karisma has held the trade marketing and media PR contracted responsibility in Central Europe for Tourism NT, an agency of the Northern Territory Government of Australia, since 2004 and also had the same responsibilities in the French-market for two-years from mid 2014.
This role, in a strong, stable and priority market, is to ensure that Australia’s Outback Northern Territory, its key destinations, experiences and facilities are positioned appropriately with key target audiences, stimulating interest in and desire to purchase travel to the destination. This has been achieved through consumer campaign activities, media communications, especially of a digital nature, and proactive partnerships with travel-trade and other distribution partners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - refer to case studies.
Trans India Holidays is a privately-owned and very reputable specialist India tour operator headquartered in New Delhi and with operational presence in Bangalore, Kolkata, and Hyderabad that offers international trvale distributors and through them, travelers, with access to a wealth of experiences and local knowledge and a wide-range of tour products and services throughout India, Nepal and Bhutan.
Karisma was appointed in 2016 to represent the commercial business partnership development interests of Trans India Holidays in the German-language Central European markets of Germany, Switzerland and Austria as well as in France.
Villa Delange, a heritage-listed building located in Nussdorf, a wine-producing village in Rhineland Palatinate, was built in 1911 as a residence and wine production and distribution business.
Today the property houses guestrooms decorated in keeping with the period of the building whilst at the same time taking into accounts the comforts and needs of present-day leisure and business travelers.
Three neighboring properties of similar generation have been added to the Villa Delange accommodation inventory that now stands at seventeen guestrooms and three apartment houses. More than 8,000 guests stayed at Villa Delange in 2017.
Villa Delange was included in the November 2010 edition of Geo Saison cover story as one of the 50 Best Hotels in Europe under €100 and subsequently in the June/July issue of Food & Travel; the January 2013 edition of Freundin; the Spring 2014 edition of Casa Mia, the July 2014 issue of Feinschmecker and the April-May 2018 edition of Romantisch Wohnen.
The success and planned further expansion of this private project is in no small part due to the application of the combined knowledge and experience in the tourism industry of the operators of the guesthouse and Directors of Karisma GmbH, John and Karin Greenslade.
New learnings from the operation of Villa Delange, especially in relation to the powerful influence of the European online accommodation booking portals, can and are being applied to other clientele of Karisma.
Kreuz und Quer mit Wirby und Zeus, a series of semi-serious audio CDs about Australian Journeys, is a private project initiative of John Greenslade in collaboration with well-known German morning radio presenters, comedy performers and book-writers Michael Wirbitzky and Sascha Zeus.
10,000 copies of the first audio CD in the series, “Durch Australiens Outback”, have been sold and the latest production, “Entlang Australiens Ostküste” has been released. Both CDs feature fascinating anecdotes and interviews with Australian characters are available for purchase via online sales, through bookstores and audio download portals in Germany.
JOB Australia is a free online jobs network set-up by John Greenslade to assist young, adventurous international working holiday-makers to Australia with the promise of job opportunities, volunteer and work experience and travel exploration. It is focused on attracting young people to regional Australia and facilitates the opportunity for direct contact with Australian employers by job seekers about specific job opportunities before they leave their country of origin.
JOB Australia invites Australian companies to register online; to list job opportunities as well as promote the attractiveness of the property/business and location.
With a personal login access users view the jobs network of all current and future jobs. The job network is designed to be updated and self-administered by employers and can be searched by category, location, date of commencement and most recently listed positions. Detailed displays features job descriptions, hours of work, rate of pay, special conditions including accommodation, images of the business or property, the company website, a Google map display and importantly, a direct email job application link.
John Greenslade provided consultative advice and assistance to two affiliated and independently owned Northern Territory tour companies in relation to product distribution and penetration of the Central European market. The project was completed successfully for Wayoutback in 2009 and interrupted earlier for Wilderness when that company was sold to the Adventure Tours group.
Tarte Gourmet Pty. Ltd., is an Australian Company, established by John and Karin Greenslade in 2017, with the intention of introducing a traditional gastronomic product from the Alsace region of France, close to the German border to Australia and New Zealand.
The product, known as Flammkuchen in Germany and Tarte Flambe in France, is light, simple and versatile and an ideal accompaniment to beer, wine and cider consumption. Flammkuchen is served directly to the table on thin timber boards, which forms part of the traditional and shared European dining experience.
Tarte Gourmet is importing un-topped frozen bases from the producer in Germany and introducing the product to the Australian table via restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels, cellar-doors, craft beer locations and event caterers as well as supplying the growing number of consumers with wood-fired or electric pizza oven capacity at home to try the new taste experience.
